Stargazing Thank You Card Featuring the Shaving Cream Technique

Hello again!!! How is everyone doing? We're still hanging in there. Yesterday our temps actually made it to 70°F!!! It was so nice to be able to have the windows open and some fresh air coming in the house. Is it warming up where you are? Let's get on to today's card.....

Have you ever tried the shaving cream technique? It can be a little messy, but so much fun!!! And every one comes out different. I have included some visual steps below.

First you need some shaving cream, I just used some from the local dollar store. I've learned the non-gel works best. Next, you need a plastic container big enough for you to be able to have room for you card. Again, your local dollar store is perfect for this. I started by putting some shaving cream in the container then taking each reinker dropping several drops into the shaving cream. I then took a plastic knife and swirled it around. Take your piece of cardstock and place it straight down into the shaving cream pushing it down a little to make good contact.

Next, pull the cardstock up and using the knife again scrape the extra shaving cream off and place onto a paper towel. Use another paper towel to wipe off any remaining shaving cream and let dry. You can do as many pieces of cardstock as you like, but after a few the colors become more muddled. Once dried I wrapped a piece of ribbon around it and then stamped my sentiment and die cut it out and placed it onto my card. I added some stars and rhinestones for embellishments.
For the inside I kept it pretty simple by stamping some stars in one corner and a swirl in opposite corner. If you would like to purchase any of the items I used to make this card, I have listed them all down below. Just click on any of the pics to be taken to my online store.
Thank you so much for coming to my blog today and I hope I have inspired you, while we are all in quarantine, to try something crafty today! Have a great day.

Hugs,

Julie
