13 Projects for Fall/Halloween-Project #2: Halloween Pumpkin Card

Image
Hello and welcome back to my blog and my 13 Projects for Fall/ Halloween event. Today I have a really cute card for you with a bunch of pumpkins telling you"Thank You." I came up with this idea the minute I saw this stamp set in the new 2017 Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog. This catalog will be available in just a few days, Sept 1st, to all customers! I highly suggest purchasing this bundle because not only is it good for Halloween, but also Fall and Thanksgiving as well. And who just doesn't love a pumpkin?      I first started with using the Wood Crate Framelits to die cut the crate out from the Wood DSP (Designer Series Paper) stack. I only needed the front of the crate so I positioned the die over the paper as not to waste any and cut out anything unnecessary. I then stamped a bunch of the pumpkins from the Pick a Pumpkin stamp set and die cut them as well.      Now this is pretty cool. You will notice when you get your catalog or view it on my Stampin&

Welcome and hello everyone!  Today I have a special post for you...an Aim for Alaska Blog Hop Sneak Peak from the new Stampin' Up! 2017 Holiday Catalog! That's right. You will get to see a whole bunch of blog posts from varies members of the Aim for Alaska group with new product from the new catalog! Now, I am sure if you have been strolling Pinterest by now you have seen a few of the new stamp sets, punches, dies, and DSP (Designer Series Paper). Aren't they pretty? Especially the new Painted Harvest Bundle! That has been a huge hit in the demonstrator world.      But today I decided to use one of the other stamp sets that I just fell in love with...the Merry Cafe stamp. And the best part is it coordinates with the Coffee Cups Framelits! So no fussy cutting! There is a little something for every holiday season on this stamp set too, but I especially loved the Pumpkin Spice Latte stamp. It is a cult following for this specialty drink. I have had it only once,

13 Projects for Fall/Halloween - Project 1: Watercolored Sunflower Card

Hi everyone! Welcome to my 13 Projects for Fall/Halloween event. Now, to start off, I want to apologize for my not blogging for the last two months. Some of you may know from past blogs that I suffer from Chronic Pain, but that has not been the issue this time. Approximately mid May I started having stomach issues...pain, vomiting, nausea, etc. It steadily became worse and worse and finally I was unable to do anything except lay down and sleep. I got to see a specialist earlier this month, and along with changing my heartburn meds, they have scheduled me to have a camera put down my throat and into my stomach to see what is going on. The pain and vomiting as settled a bit, but the nausea has continued and I have very little appetite. It has been no fun that is for sure.      So, I'm sorry for not having any blog posts. I did, however, enjoy ordering from the new Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog the first of this month, a wonderful demonstrator benefit and now I have some f

Global Designer Project #92 - CASE The Designer Challenge

Hello everyone! I know it has been a little bit since I last posted. I'm so sorry. Life has gotten the best of me lately and the temperature. I can't believe that yesterday it was 102f here in our little town of Snowflake. Very much a heatwave this week all over the West Coast. It was 120f in Phoenix! That's a little too hot for me. I am a strawberry-blonde, freckled, pale-skinned woman who doesn't do well in heat. Right now I wish it was Fall, my fave part of the year! What about you?      For you this week I have a new card that I created for the blog challenge over at Global Design Project . This week the challenge is CASE the Designer, in which you take some part of the card above and make it your own. Use the same stamp set, same layout, or the same colors...it's up to you. I decided to simply use the same layout that Steffi did. Here is my card...      I wanted to keep it pretty simple. I just die cut out a lot of the different flowers from the S

Global Designer Project #90 - Sketch Challenge

Hello again! And welcome back to my blog. Well, yesterday my husband and I added to our purr family! Since we are Empty Nesters now and have been for a few years, we have been enjoying having our fur babies around. We had to go and do some shopping yesterday and needed to go to the pest store to get a couple things. When we walked in there was a gentleman standing by the door with a snake, which I am deathly afraid of, so I kind of quickly got passed him and headed to the back and that was when I saw them all...three little kittens. To make a long story short we ended up with a cute little gray and white boy. We did find out that his mother was killed by a coyote and the lady that found him and his brother bottle them for several weeks. What a rough start to your life.      Today I have a card for you from the new challenge over at the Global Design Project and it is a Sketch challenge. Here is the sketch:      It took me quite a few days to finally decide on which stamp

Global Design Project #89 - Color Challenge

Hello again and welcome back to my blog! So sorry for not posting more this week, but it has been one heck of a week. It started with getting food poisoning Monday evening and then spending the night in the bathroom vomiting. Yuck! Then because of this the rest of the week I battled nausea and an upset stomach. What fun! I saw my doctor on Friday finally and he gave me some pills to help with my symptoms, but they make me very dizzy and sleepy so I take them only when needed. I did, however, manage to get my card done for Global Design Project and here it is.      This week on GDP it was a color challenge which is one of my faves! Here are the colors for this week.        I always start my color challenges by first grabbing all my DSP (Designer Series Paper) by Stampin' Up! and go through it while thinking about the colors we have to use. I finally settled with the paper from the Delightful Daisy pack, because it contains all the colors from the challenge, plus it is ju

Hello everyone! How is your weekend? It has been a nice one for me. Most of my pain has been mild lately, so I am able to get more things done with my crafting and around my home. You wouldn't think that a house with just two people would get too dirty, but when you add in six cats...they are like having kids!!! Constantly having to vacuum, pick the trash back up, clean litter boxes, hairballs, and make sure they have food and water. But of course we love our fur babies and will try to do everything for them. How about you...any pets?      Today for you I have my project for this weeks Global Design Project Challenge, and it is a CASE The Designer one this week. These are fun challenges because you can use anything from the original, the stamp set, paper, layout, colors, etc. You name it and use it. I decided to use the stamp set that Shawn used and that was Rose Wonder by Stampin' Up!.      Now this stamp set does have Framelits that go with it, but I didn't u

New Products From The New 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I can't wait until Saturday. I love Saturdays, because it is the one day a week where I get to spend the entire day and evening in my craft room! All the other days I head downstairs to the family room at 7pm to have dinner and spend the evening with my husband watching TV (usually I don't watch. I take my laptop down and this is when I usually write my blog posts). When you are an empty nester you get to spend this much time doing what you like. And when you combined the fact that I am disabled on top of that and don't work outside the home, I get to spend A LOT of time crafting or such. You would think I would be overwhelmed with all this time I have and cards would be flying out my ears, but right now I am in kind of a slump (lost my crafty mojo I think) and crafting just doesn't sound fun at times. Plus the fact that I suffer with chronic pain and a few other aliments. I push myself a lot. It really helps with the new catalog coming out and all the new product

Aim for Alaska 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! New Catalog Sneak Peek Blog Hop

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great week so far. Today I have a special post for you...an Aim for Alaska new Stampin' Up! 2017-2018 Annual Catalog Sneak Peek Blog Hop! That's right. You will get to see a whole bunch of blogs with new product from the new catalog! Now as some of you know I suffer from some pretty severe back issues along with a few other things and so lately while I have been going on a reducing my meds roller coaster I have lost a lot of my crafty mojo. That is why I love new catalog time!! With all the new product we get to play with, and a lot of inspiration out there among the other demonstrators, it has helped so much.      Speaking of new product...that is exactly what I used to make my mom her Mother's Day card. I used the Delightful Daisy Suite from the new 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Catalog. I got to work with this product at OnStage in April which was a blast and I ordered it in my Product Premiere Purchase order, a speci
