Made My Own Pattern Paper on My En Route Going Places Card

Hi crafty people! It's the weekend and it's warm outside. I think Spring is finally going to stay around.....just in time for Summer to be here! I'm one of those people that turn into a lobster after spending more then 10 minutes outside in the sun. In fact I got a 2nd degree burn once with sunscreen on and sitting in the shade. The next month was not fun.
On to my card for today. A few weeks ago I shared a card I made inspired by colors on a curtain I saw in IKEA. Well, today's card is another color inspiration project. This time it was the M&M's on my desk that inspired me. Here is my card.....

I decided I wanted to make my own DSP (Designer Series Paper), so I got out the stamp pads that matched the 4 M&M's inspiration. I did the background using my Stamparatus. I took the 8 icon stamps and separated them into 2 groups and using both plates by putting one group on one plate and the other group on the second plate. I would then stamp each row alternating the colors.
I will admit this background did take me a bit to make, but so worth it in the end. Once done I just put it on a layer of Pacific Point and wrapped some ribbon around it. I also heat embossed the sentiment on the front on a piece of Pumpkin Pie.

For the inside I just stamped a few of the icons again. Know someone taking a trip soon? This card would be perfect. Also know that the stamp set and ribbon will be retiring on June 4th so put in your order for them NOW! Place an order here or click on any of the item pictures below. Thanks so much for coming to my blog today and I hope you come back again to see what I will make next. Have a great weekend!
Hugs,

Julie
