Parcels and Petals Watercolor Embossed Love Card

Hello crafty people! It is finally Friday!!! Any plans for the weekend? My hubby and I get the fun of buying a new washing machine. Our front load one is having temper tantrums right now. When you push the power button and then try to turn to the load you want, it won't change and when you finally do get it too and start the washing process the beep light goes up and down beeping every time it changes. This can get very annoying to listen to. So we need a new machine. At least there are a lot of good sales going on right now!
For today's card I wanted to use a stamp set I haven't used yet so I choose Parcels & Petals and I wanted to do more then just make the cute little box. Here is my card.....

I saw the large stamp in this set and knew I wanted to do a background with it, so I heat embossed with it first before I watercolored the background. You should always do the heat embossing first as it acts as a type of resist and the watercoloring doesn't affect it. I actually made a couple different ones using different colors so you may see this same technique again at a latter date.
For the sentiment I decided to just stamp it then fussy cut it out, because I wanted the beautiful detailing of the die cut piece behind it to show more. I also put the die cut piece through the square for a bit more color and texture. It's a little hard to tell in the pic but I did make a little bird's nest out of the Silver Metallic Thread and put it behind the sentiment.

Keeping the inside very simple I just stamped the same stamp along the inside edge using my Stamparatus to line it up and to make sure I got them perfect. I love this tool for this reason. If you would like to purchase any of the items I used in this card I have them listed down below, just click on the pic of what you like and add it to your cart!
