Under My Umbrella Friend Card - CASE the Catalog Friday Mini Catalog Edition

Hello everyone! How has your weekend gone? This post was supposed to go up last Friday but didn't for some reason so here it is today. I got to spend yesterday with my son, daughter in law and my almost 11 month old grandson. We went to Flagstaff to have my son's car fixed and spent the day there. It was a lot of fun! I am so looking forward to Spring, though we still have some pretty cold nights my rose bushes have determined that it is time to bloom. So in honor of them I decided to CASE some Spring cards from the 2020 Mini catalog. Here are my cards.....

Pg. 6 of the 2020 Mini Catalog
I decided to do both of the cards since they are smaller then normal with each card being 3-1/2"x 3-1/2". For the card on the left a special technique was used and I have included some pics on what I did. I loved the look of the white boarder around the umbrella that you get when you punch it out and in order to get it you need to make a mask to put around the umbrella so when you stamp the flowers they won't show in that boarder.

After stamping the flowers I then colored them using the Stampin' Blends and love the way they came out. I next took a piece of the Fluid Watercolor paper cut to 3-1/4"x 3-1/4" and using an Aqua Painter and the Pool Party ink pad lightly color washed the background. I stamped the sentiment onto the background and also stamped the handle and punched it out. I glued the handle down and placed the umbrella on it with Stampin' Dimensionals. For a cute touch I added some sequins and White Twine.

For the next card I stamped the card base first like in the original. Next, I cut the tag which is 2-1/4"xx 3-1/8" and punched a hole. I heat embossed the little umbrella and the rain boots. I stamped the flowers behind where they were going to be on the tag and used the Watercolor pencils to color them. The umbrella is popped up along with the sentiment I stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and flagged one end. I added some ribbon at the top and popped the whole tag up on the card base using Dimensionals again.

If you would like to purchase any of the items I used to make these cards I have included them all down below. Just click onto the the item pics to be taken to my online store.
I really hope you liked today's CASE the Catalog Friday using the new 2020 Stampin' Up! Mini catalog and hope you come back to my blog again to see what I make next. Have a great day!!!

Hugs,

Julie
