Rustic Retreat Christmas Holiday Card - Kylie's Training Blog Hop

Hello crafty people and welcome to my blog! My husband and I just got home from our vacation in California yesterday. We usually go twice a year to visit family and friends. It always seems to go by so fast and it was so hard to say our goodbyes. We both grew up there, but moved to Arizona back in 2006.
Today I have a special treat as it is that time again for Kylie's Demo Training Blog Hop!!! These are so much fun to do and you get to see projects made by Stampin' Up! demos from around the world. With the Holiday catalog coming out in Sept I wanted to show you that if your crafting budget is a little tight you can still make fabulous Christmas cards for family and friends without much cost and time. Here is my card.....

I used the Rustic Retreat stamp set available in the current Annual Catalog. The set leans more to the masculine side, but with the right colors and a little imagination you could make some amazing cards like I did here. This card is so simple yet it has a sense of elegance to it. Holiday and Christmas cards don't need to be over the top extravagant. This card uses minimal supplies, but will still surprise your recipient when you tell them you made it yourself.

I embossed the background with the Woodland Embossing Folder, but layered it on a piece of Real Red cardstock for a pop of color. For the sentiment I stamped it and the small branch then die cut them out. For some extra pizzazz I added some Red Rhinestones to the branch. For the ribbon I just folded it in half and placed it behind the sentiment.

I kept the inside simple too with another layer of color and a couple branches in opposite corners. This leaves a nice size space for a holiday message to the recipient. And there you have a simple Christmas card that will be loved by all you send it to. If you would like to purchase any of the items I used to make this card they are all listed down below.
Thank you so much for hopping to my blog today and I hope you continue on to the next blog to see what more inspiration you can receive from other fellow demos around the globe. Have a great day!

Hugs,

Julie
