Above the Clouds Watercolored Encouragement Card
Hello everyone! Your week going good so far? I got to spend Monday with my grandson and daughter-in-law. I can't believe how big he is getting, he is now 4-1/2 months old and weights over 17 lbs!!! And with my back issues that weight takes it toll on me so whenever I hold him I make sure I'm sitting down. I have also been having fun making cupcakes for my family and friends. Yesterday I made some called Pink Lemonade...they are lemon cupcakes with strawberry buttercream. They were delicious! Do you like to bake? Let's get to my card.....
I have been wanting to try watercoloring with the hot air balloons in this set for awhile so I thought there is no better time then now. When watercoloring make sure you use the Stazon ink pad so the black does not run with the water. I actually labeled both of my black ink pads, Memento - Use with Stampin' Blends, and Stazon - Use with watercoloring.
For some fun texture, I also used the Stampin' Up! Embossing Paste and cloud mask on the Balmy Blue cardstock to make a sky scene and while the paste was still wet I sprinkled some of the new Ice Stampin' Glitter coming in the Holiday catalog on top to give the clouds some sparkle. I also embossed the background with the Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder.
I kept the inside very simple with just some clouds stamped in the corners and a encouraging sentiment. I really loved making this card.
