Painted Harvest Thanks Card - CASE the Catalog Friday
Hey crafty people! The weekend is almost here...any fun plans??? My younger son is coming over tomorrow with his wife and my grandson to do some laundry. It takes me back to when I would do the same thing at my parents house once a week before we could afford a washer and dryer. Of all the appliances those seem to be the ones you can do without, but kind of necessary when you have a baby. So I rather they do it here and save the money from a laundry mat to put towards buying their own.....plus I get to see my grandson! On to today's card.....
That's right.....it is CASE the Catalog Friday again! And for today's project I decided to use a stamp set that has been around for a little bit, Painted Harvest. This set never gets old either. Just when you think you have done everything with it that you can someone posts a project that blows your mind. When I saw this sample in the Annual Catalog I said to myself, "I need to do this one!"
I have stamped the sunflower in other colors before and it always looks good in any combination! I decided to use the same colors that were used in the original as pink is one of my fave colors. I tried the best I could to replicate the sizes so the top layer is 3-7/8"x 3-1/2" with the layer right under it being 3-7/8"x 3-5/8"ish because of this layer having the torn edge it is not exact. The banner was cut to 1"x 3-3/4" with the tail being hidden under the flowers. For the splatters I took one of my Aqua Painters dipped in ink and hit it across my finger.
Because the catalog doesn't show the inside I just made my own design with stamping the leaf in both colors in opposite corners. And there you have it, a beautiful thank you card that any recipient will be surprised to receive, especially when they find out you made it.
