Stampin' Up! June's "A Little Smile" Paper Pumpkin & Alternatives
Hi crafty people! Welcome to my blog. I have a special treat today as I am sharing June's Paper Pumpkin kit and some alternative ideas for it. What is Paper Pumpkin you ask??? It is a monthly box of goodness! Each month you will receive this wonderful little box of various projects for you to have a little creativity time. They range from cards to 3D items to whatever they think up at Stampin' Up!. And the most fun part is you never know what it is going to be each month. We may get hints and little sneak peeks, but it is a mostly a fun surprise. Here is what the supplies that came in the box made this month.....
The theme this month was to share a smile with the people you meet everyday. I loved the little size of the cards and the really beautiful plastic pouch to carry your cards in to hand out. This would be perfect to put in your purse or to place in your car. You could give these to anyone, the person at the drive through window, the person at the counter at the post office, your mail person, the receptionist at your doctor's office. The possibilities are endless!!!
I made a few alternatives to the ideas that are shown on the instruction sheet in the kit, so if you want to expand what you can do with the kits then these are for you. The one on the left I made my own pattern paper by stamping the starfish and sand dollar several times, and then I cut one of the cards in the kit in half and overlapped them slightly to make a frame on two sides. I decorated the front with pieces from the kit and placed the whole thing on a regular card sized Coastal Cabana base. The card in the middle I started by watercoloring on a piece of watercolor paper. I again used pieces from the kit to decorate the front and placed this on a piece of Whisper White. For the final card I used the whole card and embossed just the white side by only putting this side in the Subtle embossing folder. I wrapped some of the twine around it and again used more kit pieces and placed it on a Crumb Cake card base.
As you can see there are so many possibilities with these cute little kits. And if you are a new Paper Pumpkin subscriber you will also get a free clear block in your first kit! Click here to subscribe and if for any reason you're not happy or other circumstances happen you can cancel your subscription at any time though you need to do it before the 10th of the month not to be charged for that month's kit.
Thanks so much for coming to my blog today and don't forget to come back on Thursday to see what I am going to make next. Hope you all have a great day!!!
