Wildly Happy Sweet Fox Baby Card

Hey crafty people! Are you ready for the weekend??? Well, here in the USA it is actually already the weekend because of Independence Day yesterday a lot of people got a 4 day weekend. The little town next to us is having the big celebration tomorrow with a rodeo, fireworks, and the traditional anvil launching. You read that right.....an anvil launching! I'm not sure how the tradition got started, but every 4th of July (or whatever Saturday is closest) the town launches an anvil starting at 5:30am going to several places around the town and repeating. They use black powder and a tin can to launch this thing about 10ft in the air. I'll have to pull out some pics to show all of you. It's pretty neat.
For my project's today I'm using a stamp set that was given out at OnStage as part of Prize Patrol. I didn't win this one, and could not wait to get it when the catalog came out. There are several wild mothers with their babies and they are all so cute. Here is my card.....

The fox mother and baby is my fave in this stamp set, but all the wild animals are just too cute. I decided to pair it with the Birch background stamp to add to the outdoors feeling. I often use my extra plate that came with my Stamparatus to put the big background stamps on. They are much lighter then the block and easier on my hands. I also stamp it by laying the stamp and plate on my desk and then I ink it up. Next, I lay the cardstock I'm using on top and rub with my fingers and then just turn the whole thing over and my cardstock falls off without my fingers getting a lot of ink on them.
For the foxes I used a combo of Dark Cajun Craze, Dark Pumpkin Pie, and Light Pumpkin Pie to create their coloring. For the ears I lightly added some Light Flirty Flamingo at the base and then Dark Petal Pink for the rest. I wrapped some Linen Thread around the layers and die cut the word Baby from the Well Written dies in Petal Pink. Up to this point the card could of been used for either a boy or girl. You could just use another color for the baby die to make it more boy.

For the inside I kept it very simple by adding a Terracotta Tile layer behind the Whisper White to add more color and then I stamped a really cute sentiment. I do have plans for who this card is for so I wanted to keep it open for lots of writing.
Thanks so much for coming to my blog today to see my really cute baby card. I hope you come back on Monday to see what I create next as I will be participating in a blog hop with Stampin' Up! demos from around the globe. Have a great day and a great weekend!

Hugs,

Julie
