A Farewell Tour of the 2017-2019 In Colors: Powder Pink Fabulous Flamingo Congrats Card

Hello everyone! Did you have a good weekend? Our weather has still been a little wet so I spent the whole weekend inside working on my closet. Right before my neck surgery last September the shelf and closet rod detached from the wall and fell to the floor with all my clothes and everything else I stuff into there. So I spent all Saturday pulling everything out of the closet (my husband lifted all the heavy stuff) and my husband rebuild my shelf and rod making it extra strong. I then spent most of the late afternoon and evening Konmari-ng my clothes. I'm pretty proud of myself as I filled up 3 large trash bags of clothes that I'm donating to the Goodwill store. My closet now looks so much better!
On to today's project.....we are now on week 4 of my Farewell Tour of the retiring 2017-2019 In Colors. This week i am showcasing Powder Pink. This was my 2nd fave color of the whole set with Lemon Lime Twist being #1. I starting this week off with one of my fave stamp sets that is also retiring too. Here is my card.....

Using the Stamparatus for the flamingo made lining it up and stamping it so much easier. I stamped the flamingo first before I used the Rectangle Stitched dies to cut it out so I wasn't worrying about getting it straight while stamping. I knew I wanted to put the sentiment in the upper left corner so I knew where to put the flamingo.

I stamped the water using two different colors and I turned the stamp 180° for the second color as to not have the same stamped look. I then stamped some grass and palm leaves for a tropical look. I placed some sequins in matching colors around the front. For the background I just stamped Powder Pink ink with the palm leaf around the edge of the Powder Pink base where I knew it was going to be seen once I placed the top layer on. Also for a bit of contrast I layered a piece of Basic Black cardstock behind the flamingo layer to give it a nice frame too.

To complete the inside I stamped my sentiment and some more of the grass and palm leaves in the opposite corners as the front. I think this would make a really cute welcome baby girl card! Thank you so much for coming to my blog today to see my card. I will be having a 2nd blog post at 2pm PDT today featuring the Everything is Rosy kit for the monthly blog hop I am a part of, so come check it out later! Hope you have a great crafty day!

Hugs,

Julie
