Spooky Sweets Watercolor Card
Hey everyone. Last week I turned 48 and I wasn't to sure how I would feel about that as I inch closer to the big 50, but I received two amazing gifts this year. First, my older son made me an amazing Chicken Enchilada dinner, then second, my younger son told me he was making me a GRANDMA!!! I am so elated...my first grandchild! I am over the moon excited! On to today's card. I love to watercolor so I decided to create a Halloween colored background.
I have been wanting to use this really cute Cat Punch on a Halloween card and believe it or not this card design popped into my head one night while I was laying in bed. And when I saw the new Black Foil paper I knew that was what I wanted to use. I simply embossed the paper first then punched it out.
I love layers as they give your eyes a little more to look at each time. This is not a hard card to make. It is just a few pieces put together. I heat embossed some bats and surrounded them with the new Twinkle Sequins which were perfect as they matched the Silver Metallic Tread I used to make another layer under my cat.
I wrapped some of the new Black Glittered Organdy ribbon around the card and tied a simple knot on front. A cheaters way of doing this is to cut a piece of ribbon a little longer then the card front, then wrap the front and tape in the back on both sides. Then cut a little piece of ribbon and tie it around the piece on the front in the position where you want it. Voila! the look of a piece of ribbon that goes all the way around your card without using so much.
I stamped the inside as always to continue my Halloween theme. I love the little stars stamp from the Cauldron Bubble stamp set. It makes a nice addition to any Halloween stamp! Thanks for looking.
