Farewell Tour of the 2018-2020 In Colors: Blueberry Bushel Good Morning Magnolia Watercolor Thanks Card

Welcome crafty people! It's Julie here with another card using the retiring 2018-2020 In Colors as part of my Farewell Tour and it's almost over!!! I'm on my last color, Blueberry Bushel, this week. If you have missed any of my other posts using all the other retiring colors check out past posts on this blog. Let's get onto today's fun card.....

I have said before that watercoloring has to be my most fave technique. I think this comes from the artistic talent in my family. My grandfather was a painter, as well as my mom now. I spent most of my growing up life drawing on anything that was blank. Though I haven't drawn in years I really do enjoy watercoloring.

I first started by heat embossing the flower onto some Fluid Watercolor paper with the White Embossing powder. Then I started the watercoloring. I did the blue first starting at the base of each petal and pulling the color up. This keeps the darker ink at the base like a shadow.

You can see the embossing better in this pic. I did the same technique with the leaves. After I was finished, I set it aside to dry. I cut a piece of the Noble Peacock DSP (Designer Series Paper) to the same size as the card base and glued it down. After drying, I glued the watercoloring to the card. I stamped my sentiment, die cut, and layered it. I placed it just under the flower. I added several rhinestones to the card as well.

For the inside I kept it pretty simple by stamping a sentiment and some leaves in the upper and bottom corners. If you would like to purchase any of the items I used to make this card, I have listed them all down below. Just click on any of the pics to be taken to my online store. Be aware that these items are selling out quickly and once gone they are gone for good so get your's today!
Thank you so much for coming to my blog today and I hope I have inspired you, while we are all in quarantine, to try something crafty today! Have a great day.

Hugs,

Julie
