Kylie Bertucci's "Aim For Alaska" Blog Hop - A Little Foxy

Hey everyone! I hope you are all having a great day and are enjoying the blog hop so far. You are here today with Julie Kight from the United States and I am bringing you a card that I made for Kylie Betucci's "Aim For Alaska" Blog Hop. "Aim for Alaska" is a Facebook support group run by Kylie Bertucci for Stampin' Up! demonstrators around the globe that want
to increase and improve their business to earn the Stampin' Up! incentive trip. Each year Stampin' Up! offers an incentive trip for the top demonstrators to go for and earn. This year we are earning to go on an Alaskan cruise in the summer of 2018. For those that earned the incentive trip last year, they are going to Thailand this coming Summer!
I am learning so much in this Facebook support group of demonstrators. There is such a wide range of us from all over the globe. Some of the demonstrators in the group have already earned the trip. I haven't yet, but I am not worried about it. My goal is just to improve my business right now and learn everything I can. I am learning how to blog everyday and improve my following. I am also learning how to be a better demonstrator and how to give excellent customer service. We have some amazing Top 100 Global demonstrators, like
Robyn Cardon, Michelle Last, and Patty Bennett doing Facebook Live videos and talking to us about how we can succeed with our businesses like they have. They tell us all about how they got started with Stampin' Up! and what they do to help not only their customers, but also their teams. They give us advice and great tips on how to truly run our business and not let the business run us. It is so much fun and hard work at the same time! But I am truly enjoying it and already seeing the benefits.
So on to my card. Our theme for this Blog Hop was anything to do with Alaska whether it be, nature, animals, boats, colors, weather etc. It took me quite a bit to choose what I wanted to do but finally I settled on the fox from the stamp set Foxy Friends. I first cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 5-1/2"x 8-1/2" and folded it in half. Next, I cut a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock to 4"x 5-1/4" and embossed it using the Woodland TIEF (Textured Impressions Embossing Folder) and my Big Shot. Then, I got out my Layering Squares Framelits and die cut out a window into each piece. I made the card base a little smaller so that a bit of the Whisper White will show through
the Calypso Coral piece. I then took a piece of the 3/8" Metallic Ribbon from the Sale-a-Bration items in the Gold and wrapped it around the bottom of this piece. I taped it in the back, and I glued this whole piece down onto the card front lining up the windows.
For the inside of the card I first started with the fox. I used the Foxy Friends stamp set and stamped out the sitting down animal onto another piece of Whisper White cardstock using Calypso Coral ink. I stamped it twice so I could use the punch and punch out the head and body separately. Next, I stamped the tail with the white tip onto the cardstock using the same ink and punched it out too. I also stamped the stump onto the Whisper White cardstock using Early Espresso and then cut it using Paper Snips. I glued the fox head and tail onto the body. I then placed several Stampin' Dimensionals onto the back of it and set it aside.
Next, I wanted to stamp the background. I started with the larger tree from the Foxy Friends stamp set and stamped it on the right with Garden Green ink. Then, I stamped
the smaller tree from the same stamp set on the left side of the card in Old Olive. Now, I didn't want the ink from the next stamp to go onto the two trees I already stamped and change the colors so I made a couple masks. I stamped one of each tree onto a couple Post It Notes. I cut these out with my Paper Snips and placed them over the two trees I already stamped on the card base. Then I stamped my third tree in the middle using Pear Pizzazz ink. I removed the two masks and voila! You have a seamless stamped tree!
Now to place the fox. I first put the stump down using the Mini Glue Dots so that it popped up very little. Then I put the fox down onto of the stump so it is sitting on it. Next, I stamped the little mushrooms around the bottom of the trees in Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate, and Soft Suede ink.
Then I stamped the little paw prints along the very bottom of the card using Calypso Coral ink again. The clouds in the sky I stamped using the Lift Me Up stamp set and Smoky Slate, and Soft Sky ink pads. Finally, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set, Lift Me Up, onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Calypso Coral ink and die cut it with my Stitched Shapes Framelits. I then took a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and die cut a larger oval using my Layering Ovals Framelits. I glued the sentiment onto the Pear Pizzazz piece. I pop dotted it onto the front of the card over the Gold Ribbon with Stampin' Dimensionals. And finally we are done!
